Studying after so many years working in the expat industry can be a daunting task, but it needs to be done and now (finally after 19 years working in several countries on remote mining sites) I have the opportunity to do so. Working as an expat is very taxing on your time, family life, body and also your mind. Some days we push up to 18 hours at work while facing possible repeat rebel attacks and living in fear of our lives...while protecting those people around us at the same time making sure that the production figures are maintained.

This warehouse was built from scratch in the middle of the Sahara Desert. Look at the time-lapse video. We managed this in 9 weeks, and is maintained with more than a $100 million of inventory, to ensure that the mining operation keeps on running like a well oiled machine.
